Left & Right:  NY52-54 & NY52-55   Two sisters, found on a beach along the Malabar coast, Kerala, 1945.  Many women in this warm, humid region did not wear upper garments at the time.  These two made their living by searching for seashells and selling them to a lime kiln, earning the equivalent of only a few cents every day.
